still life is a site specific installation commissioned in 2020 for And Me, Streams of You at Marres Huis voor Hedendaagse Cultuur, Maastricht, a group show curated by Tim Hollander and Helena Julian.
still life voices various characters and entities, exploring a plurality of bodies and their skin; the unbridled growth of the self and various notions of ‘inside’ and ‘outside’. In some cases, these bodies refer to a literal human body, other times their scale moves from microscopic to planetary. What begins as a dissection eventually develops into the destruction of boundaries between inside and out. The desire arises to form and become a limitless one. From the beating heart of the installation, their work flows through the veins of Marres into other chambers and in-between spaces, self replicating and mutating.
